While we are not the least expensive option in printer supplies, we offer the eco-friendly alternative of re-using the OEM equipment designed for your printer, simply remanufactured to work to the same standards the manufacturer intended. This process involves much more work and cost than simply building a "new-build" compatible cartridge, such as you'd get on Amazon/eBay, etc. for absurdly low prices. Compatible new-build cartridges typically have significantly higher defect rates and are made with all new materials and the cheapest consumable components they can use in their manufacture, as well as re-engineering certain proprietary gears/mechanisms that would violate patent laws if they were copied. As a result, those re-designed components are not up to the rigorous standards the manufacturer designed their supplies to meet. Our products use those EXACT components that are already part of the empty "core" designed by the manufacturer, ink and toner formulations as close as legally possible to the manufacturer's specifications, and in many cases (in the case of laser printer toners), the original magnetic or developer rollers are reconditioned for re-use. We use newly replaced long-life imaging drums as well as new microchips or firmware patches to both allow the printer to use the supply and still provide supply level estimates. Re-use is the highest form of recycling, which is what we do. Our defect rates for remanufactured toners are consistently around the same rate that new genuine OEM supplies report.
